REGGIE TROILO

A Texas resident since age five, Reggie studied various art disciplines in college and spent some years teaching. A great admirer of Mexican art, many of her themes celebrate that country’s culture. “I live in San Antonio. There are always fiestas, and that’s what inspires me. Mexico inspires me with color. You see beautiful women, sensitive and strong. You see Indian people getting off buses wearing turquoise dresses and red rebozos. Why don’t we dress like that!” “I never know until I put color on canvas what a painting is going to be - that’s hy my work has been called, ”Serendipity.” I start out with a wash of earth tones. It’s almost like sculptor looking at marble - you see the figure popping out of it. Many examples of her work have a round connotation, which she simply explains as: “I enjoy anything round...” This natural expression of honesty establishes her quality as an artist. Reggie’s works are her own surreal ideas and expressions using a color palette which she has grown to love. Reggie Troilo’s work is simple and alive, happy and joyful, and surely a piece of her personality.”
