Mary Shepard is an award winning watercolorist who also works in oils. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Interior Design from University of North Texas. Her love of painting turned into a full time career and Shepard began to be recognized for her talents. Her works have been in numerous regional and national juried shows.

Shepard enjoys painting realism in a distinctive style, creating the illusion of reality without excessive detail. She is constantly striving to create rich color, Luminosity, lively brushstrokes and the play of light and dark.

She is especially intrigued with subjects with “a story to tell”; such as old, long lost vehicles, old farm gates and barns, as well as still life. The appealing and rich colors achived in Shepard’s paintings are a feast for the viewer’s eye.
